Surprise Proposal
About a month ago, a very sweet gentleman named Mark contacted me about a secret plan he had in mind. He informed me he would be traveling to Cozumel during mid-May with his girlfriend and both their families.
With love in his heart, Mark wanted to surprise his beautiful girlfriend with a proposal; "A surprise engagement was in the making."
And this, of course, I had to be a part of.
I contacted a local photographer to assist me by the name of Tania. She has been on the island for more than 20 years. I would like to say, Tania has been one of the first photographers on the island, starting with underwater photography, now doing family and wedding shoots. It was the first time I got to meet her, and I enjoyed every moment we had together.
As the month went by, Mark and I planned and planned until we were both settled on a fine idea for his lovely Rachel.
The couple and their families stayed at the Fiesta Americana Hotel, situated on the south side of the island.
The location is perfect for sunsets and romantic gestures; such as Mark’s.
The day arrived, and as the sun was smiling and about to set, Mark took Rachel on a stroll to the beach pretending to have a photo shoot prepared for the family.
Mark took Rachel to a spot he had in mind, and gallantly went down on his knee and asked her to be his wife. With her nerves running a multitude of emotions, she, of course, said yes!
Both families came out of hiding and gathered to congratulate the couple. Watching how happy both families were was truly a blessing. They all looked so ecstatic and overwhelmed at Mark’s romantic and wonderful surprise proposal.
It was such a momentous occasion to be a part of, and I shall remember this for many years to come.
